Vision & Principles

The Vision of the Collaborative is of a family justice system that, together with other societal systems, supports children, youth and families who are experiencing family justice issues.

The work of the Collaborative is guided by the principles reflected in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and in Indigenous laws, and by the following eight principles:

• strengths-based
• child-centred
• supportive of agency
• holistic
• preventative
• trauma-informed
• nurturing relationship and belonging
